The Cedar City Arts Festival is pleased to announce the Call for Entries for the 2009 Event. Celebrating its 8th year, the Cedar City Arts Festival is held in beautiful downtown Cedar City, Utah adjacent to the Randall Jones Theatre, which is home to the Tony Award winning Utah Shakespearean Festival (www.bard.org). Held over 2 days, from 11am to 7pm, this festival takes advantage of the crowds from the Summer Season. This event hosts over 40 booths from fine art to fine crafts in multiple categories such as ceramics, glass, fiber, jewelry, painting, and more. The Arts Festival is as an opportunity for the public to meet quality artists and discover a diversity of art forms. The 2009 Festival will take place August 28-29.
The Arts Festival relies solely on Volunteers to plan, market, and run this event. Currently, the Arts Festival is in need of Volunteers to assist with many aspects of the event including information, hospitality, set up, and operations. To find out how you can help click here.
The mission of the Cedar City Arts Festival is to develop and promote arts awareness and appreciation of the general public, and to enhance the experience of Utah Shakespearean Festival patrons, through the sponsorship of an annual arts festival. Through it's annual arts festival, the Cedar City Arts Council promotes development of Cedar City and the surrounding area as the preeminent Art Center for Southwestern Utah. The Festival showcases regional artists and the vitality of the community.
The Cedar City Arts Festival takes great pride in its artists and their work. Each artist must submit an application to be juried by a selection panel that looks for distinctive concept, excellent workmanship, appropriate presentation, and medium.
