Grant requests of up to $500 are considered during two grant cycles. Deadlines for our two mini-grant cycles are August 31 and February 28 (or 29, in leap years) each year. Please note: if you or your organization already receive funding through the Cedar City RAP Tax or the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, you are not eligible for funding from CCAC.

GRANT GUIDELINES
| WHAT? | Cedar City Arts Council Artists’ Mini-Grants are awarded semi-annually to individuals, groups, or organizations in the visual, performing, and literary arts to support creative endeavors that will strengthen communication between artists and the community. Typically, 16 to 20 grants are awarded annually.Grant funds may be used to purchase supplies or equipment; rent display or performance venues; support mileage or registration costs to educational or training sessions; purchase promotional advertising; or other needs as demonstrated in the grant application. Our goal is to broaden our cultural landscape through unusual, unique, and innovative ideas, events, and projects. |
| WHO? | The Cedar City Arts Council considers requests from emerging or established artists who desire to enhance their creative processes, products, or projects. Non-profit, 501(c)(3) status is not required; organizations must have an annual operating budget of less than $25,000. Proposals from K-16 teachers that elevate and exceed the scope of normal curriculum are considered, but individuals may not request funding in pursuit of an academic grade or diploma.Applicants must be residents of Iron County, Utah. When possible, grant funds should be spent in Iron County, Utah. Current CCAC Board of Trustee members are not eligible to apply for individual projects, but may partner on projects with other artists, groups, or organizations. Applicants funded by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums or the Cedar City Recreation, Arts, & Parks (RAP) tax are not eligible. Applicants whose request is denied may re-apply during the next cycle in 6 months. Funded applicants may apply for additional grants after an interval of 18 months from a grant receipt. Priority consideration will be given to first-time applicants. |
| HOW? | Applications must be postmarked by August 31st or February 28th/29theach year. Applications postmarked after the deadline will be retained and considered in the following grant cycle.A sub-committee of the CCAC Board of Trustees will review grant applications for the following items:a) Compliance with grant guidelines.b) Perceived ability of the applicant to complete the project within about a year of the receipt of funds.c) Positive impact of the requested funds on the proposal.d) A demonstrable, positive connection and impact of the proposal on the Iron County community.e) The artistic quality of the applicant’s work. |
| OUTCOME | Response will occur within approximately thirty days of the application deadline. Non-members of the Arts Council will be charged a $10 processing fee which also buys the recipient a one-year membership in the Council. The fee will be subtracted from the grant funds. Current members are charged no such fee.Grantees may be asked to and be willing to present their work at an Arts Council Networking Social or Final Friday Art Walk.Approximately six months after receipt of a grant, the grantee will receive an accountability/progress report form which will need to be completed and returned within thirty days of the date on the form. The form will indicate the progress of the project and approximate completion date. Failure to return the report will eliminate the recipient from any further funding consideration. |
